SUBMISSIONS

Old Kingdom Games is a small press publisher offering rates that have been described as 'not too shabby' for the industry. We've been told our projects are fun to work on, and we like to think we can challenge our freelancers to push their own limits.

As well as selecting freelancers with a proven history of published work, we actively look to receive submissions from people just breaking into the market, or looking to get published for the first time. We're new at this too and we appreciate that a single break can lead to bigger and better things.

How can I get involved in an Old Kingdom Games project?

Old Kingdom Games has successfully used well known roleplaying community resources to secure talented individuals for involvement in its projects and will continue to do so.

We advertise new projects in the following locations:

  • RPG.net (Freelancers and Freelancing forum)
  • Enworld.org (Open Calls and Job Vacancies forum)
  • rpgwriter.com (Open Calls and Job Vacancies section)
  • Here at our website (front page as a 'news' item)

We are unable to accept unsolicited enquiries for work. We are not be able to respond to unsolicted enquiries.

If you have worked on a project with us before and your style suits our new project we may draw your attention directly to an open call advertised at the above web sites.

What about confidentiality and contracts?

Everyone who responds to an open call will be asked to complete a confidentiality agreement before we discuss the specifics of a project although we'll give as much information as we can in each open call.

If you've already completed an Old Kingdom Games confidentiality agreement you will not need to complete another.

Every piece of work you undertake for us is covered by a comprehensive contract. What incentives are there for me, besides payment of course?

We offer the following to all our freelancers:

  • Published work: Clear credits for work we publish. Each publication details its writers, artists, developers, proof-readers, layout artists and playtesters
  • Promotional material: Where possible, we list the same credits where we advertise products. This includes on our company website product pages
  • Website: We maintain a list of writing and artist credits on our website (visit the credits link visible at the bottom of each page, just above the legal mumbo jumbo)

That's all very nice, what about payment?

We do not advertise a schedule of rates or rates previously paid. We do however appreciate a good working relationship and an exceptional financial relationship with our freelancers. We are happy to provide a list of references so you can check just how we conduct ourselves with our payments to our freelancers. Where the project calls for it, we typically offer 50% up front and 50% upon completion of contract after you have completed at least one project with us.

If you are undertaking your first project with us payment is made in full upon completion.
