The Paths

Bronze Gods: Circle SpeakerCircle Speaker

Circle Speakers originated amongst the Iridians, but their ways have since spread to all other tribes. This class uses ancient words of power to evoke supernatural effects and shape the environment around them.

Circle Speakers have been welcomed with open arms by the Ageless King, and are quite common within the city of Oru, often serving within the temples themselves. Many of them also work within larger organizations, acting as spokespeople, merchants, or advisors. Any tribal leader will have a number of Circle Speakers in his entourage to announce him, or help put on displays for ceremonies.

Most of the people of the islands have a favorable attitude of the Circle Speakers. Some of the more warrior-centered clans consider them to be frail and useless, however. Most Circle Speakers are not well-suited to lone excursions into the wilderness, and thus rely upon other classes during long journeys; they are rarely solitary wanderers.

Bronze Gods: Light PainterLight Painter

Light Painters are the artisans and builders of the tribes, naturally suited to creation and craft. With their ability to forge enchantments through their use of mystic sigils, Light Painters also serve a valuable purpose in warfare.

Light Painters are loathed to enter water or naval combat, as water negates the powers of their runes. On land, however, they are a very valuable asset to any fighting force. Within the tribes, Light Painters are artisans, masons, and craftsmen, and their work can be seen on most structures. (Light Painters can also be seen after a rain, repainting all of their runes).

Generally, Light Painters are welcomed by members of most other classes, with the exception of the Weavers of Water. There are rare Weavers who do work with Light Painters, savage warriors of the Konok who use blood to trigger their abilities and still retain the Light Painters’ enchantments.

Bronze Gods: Light PainterPath Tracer

These brave souls seek to learn and unlock the mysteries of the temples and strange ruins found on the islands. A Path Tracer’s knowledge and skill are the source of their true power.

Path Tracers are usually the followers of the Ageless King, and exist within an almost priestly hierarchy. They receive training from mentors and operate in groups when investigating ruins or maintaining temples. Oftentimes, their chief concerns involve restoring ruins such that they can be used as temples. Path tracers are taught sailing skills so that they can move from island to island to explore.

Within the tribal society, Path Tracers sometimes fill the role of shamans, or if they are younger, ruin guides or guardians. They are also called upon when dealing with intertribal matters; as they often serve as agents of the Ageless King. Not all Path Tracers are so beholden, however. Both unallied and rogue Tracers exist, especially outside of the tribe of the Har Men.

Bronze Gods: Weaver of WaterWeaver of Water

A warrior and soldier who fights his battles on the waves, the weaver of water can harness the power of sea and storm. He sails into battle girded by ocean, with the ferocity of a typhoon and the inevitability of a tidal wave.

A Weaver of Water fulfills the role of a soldier amongst the tribes. Most warfare is naval in nature, and as such Weavers are extremely useful. Older Weavers frequently serve as medics, with the ability to create healing waters. Sometimes they become farmers, weather shamans, or sailors.

Weavers usually have tribal or family ties and do their fighting on this basis; however, the more powerful Weavers often develop a spiritual connection to their class. These warriors sever their tribal or political ties and act as mentors and teachers, or as consultants and mercenaries.

Weavers tend to organize themselves into small groups of individuals who follow the teachings of the waves, assisting each other along the path. There can be several such groups competing for dominance in a given village. The “teachings” are sometimes passed down by a powerful Weaver, but just as often they are grasped intuitively and naturally.

Bronze Gods: Wild AdeptWild Adept

The Wild Adept is a highly adaptable individual, specialized at surviving in the harshest environments. Wild Adepts become so attuned to their terrains of choice that they eventually gather arcane energy directly from the land itself.

The Wild Adept’s exact function in a party varies between hunter, warrior, scout, and even healer. Extended contact with the wilderness is what causes the development of a Wild Adept’s power; as such many are ill at ease when they are away from their chosen lands. Yet they sometimes welcome travel, as moving from location to location grants access to new energies.

Wild Adepts can be solitary hermits, but more often work in groups. Such a group could consist solely of Wild Adepts, but they are frequently mixed with Weavers of Water. Within the larger tribal society, Wild Adepts often fill the niche of hunters and guardians of the outer limits of a group’s territory. Inter-tribally, due to their combat skill, they serve as mercenaries.
